Crazy Weekend

What a busy/crazy weekend.  I need to brag a little, my studio participated in a competition on Saturday.  I was very proud of each class.  They all did a great job.  We took four of our classes: three of mine and one of Anjelena's.  Taylor's class tied for first with their ballet number, my Elite's class took third place with their jazz dance, and my adv. ballet class took first with their ballet/lyrical dance.  Anjelena's class got a second place with their jazz routine.  We also had 4 girls do solos, and each one of them placed.  It was a pretty awesome day.  I loved competing when I was in high school.  I hope my girls like competing and had a good time.  I tried my best to emphasize that the most important thing was that they have fun and do their best.  I hope that's what they came away with.  Here is a picture of Taylor's class.  Taylor is on the back row on the left.  Aren't they a cute class?!  All my classes worked so hard.  I am so proud of them.

The only set back to the day was that I lost my camera somewhere at the high school!  But thank goodness some of the Drill Team girls found it this morning and gave me a call.  As soon as I was able to get everyone ready for the day, I was out the door and headed to the high school to pick it up!
Once we were done at the competition, we had another performance at the Peace Gardens in Price.  This is something we have done for, I believe, the past 3 years.  It's fun to have all of our classes perform outside, give the parents a free performance, and to make sure we are on track for our year end recital.  I think it went pretty well.  It wasn't too windy for us.
But that is my crazy weekend.  Well, I guess mainly my Saturday.  But to finish up the day,  I had a few of my dancers give me call and offer to babysit my kids!  This is the second time they have done it.  It's so nice when they do.  My girls love them, especially Rylie.  This time we had four girls over to watch our three.  (two sets of sisters)  Garth and I went to dinner.  It was nice to sit, just the two of us, and talk.  It seems we don't get to do that very often.  I love my husband.  He is a great guy and a great dad to my dancing Frandsens.
I don't know who coined the phrase "when things slow down", because honestly, when do things ever slow down?  There is ALWAYS something that needs to get done or something for us to do.  But I think, if I weren't busy, I'd be bored.

I meant to add this picture to my last post.  It is too cute.  Camryn and Garth, conked out after a day at the beach.

The Beach

Our visit to the beach was great.  Clisty, you were right - the girls had a great time even though it was cold.  It was very cold and windy yesterday, but the girls didn't seem to care.  They went off with Garth and Tristan looking for adventure.  They saw whales spouting and Maycee brought home a star fish, Cari was so thrilled!  Here are a few pictures of the girls and a picture of me to prove that I was there!

Cari took Taylor out looking for sand dabs.  They are funny looking creatures.  Two of them are on there backs and the other one almost blends right in with the sand.

Any time we stepped away from our blankets and things, the birds were on/in our stuff in no time.  The girls had fun chasing them.

This last picture is of Rylie.  She was playing in the sand and singing to herself.  It was so very cute.  Cari said the best pictures are when they're playing and not paying attention to you, so I snapped a picture quick.  She was right, it is one of the best pictures of the day.

We all had a great time!  I would love to get back to the beach when the weather is more on the warm side, but still, it was a good time.  I love watching my kids have fun.  Camryn loved digging in the sand and kicking her feet in it.  I was happy she didn't put any in her mouth.  I can't believe we have to come home tomorrow.

Here We Come!

On Tuesday we began the long trek to California.  A family vacation that doesn't include a motocross track!  How very exciting!  We are in California visiting Garth's cousin Cari.  The main purpose of our trip is to do a LAYERS party for Cari.  She did a Pampered Chef party for me last year and I told her I would come and do a LAYERS one for her!  She is my very best customer.  Great excuse for a party.  Anyway, we loaded up the van, and we were on our way.  The girls were awesome!  They each did such a great job - even Camryn.  Tomorrow we are headed to the beach.  This is the one spot the girls are most excited for.  I'll let you know how that goes.  I joked with the girls, telling them that we wouldn't be able to go to the beach because they closed it - it was being drained and they were working on it.  Taylor said I was just joking, but later asked me if I was joking, just to make sure.  I think she was a little worried.  Garth went golfing today wit his Uncle Robert and a friend of Pat's (Cari's husband).  He said it was frustrating at first, but as the day went on, he got a bit better and was able to enjoy himself a bit more.  Golf isn't quite his thing, but he is definitely open to giving it a try.
We are having a great time.  It is so nice to take a break from all the crazy things of everyday life.  This vacation is much needed, but as soon as we get home, it's back to business.  I have a competition and performance on Saturday to make sure my classes are ready for.  Crazy stuff.  But I guess that's life.  If I'm not busy, I'm bored.

Oh No!

I mentioned that Camryn hasn't been feeling too great lately and it's been almost impossible to set her down.  No need to fear though, I took her to the doctor and found out she has a virus in her throat.  She is slowly making it back to her normal, happy self.  But, one of the ways I was able to get a few things done the other day was to put her in her high chair.  I gave her an Oreo cookie - and let's just say she really enjoyed it.

Definitely a delicious cookie.  The thing that makes this even better is that Taylor, Rylie and I were teaching her to do "oh no" with her hands.  She did a very good job!  Camryn is such a cutie.

Lots of fun.  Although, Camryn didn't think it was so much fun when I had to wash her up afterwards.  Just within the last two days Camryn has become a real giggler.  Rylie is usually the one who gets her going.  It is so fun to watch her and listen to her.  Of course it brings a smile to my face and a little giggle of my own.  Each of my girls love to laugh, but the first two weren't big gigglers when they were little.  Camryn just has her own special way about her.  I love watching her grow and learn new things.  I am trying to get her to understand the whole "no touch" bit.  She is definitely a grabber.  To those of you who remember my first two girls - do you think Camryn will go blonde or is she going to stay brown?  I don't think she's changing quite like the other two did.  Tell me what you think.

My Dancing Frandsens

It took me forever to figure out how to get a picture on.  Every time I would download it, it would come up and the photo would be sideways.  I told you this might take me a while to get.  But anyway, I finally was able to get the picture of my girls up.  Aren't they cute, beautiful, pretty, etc. Ha Ha, just a bit proud.  Taylor will be 8 in two months!  I am not that old.  She is a smart girl and full of imagination.  Rylie will be 4 next month and continues to crack us up.  Yesterday, while she was helping me water our mostly dead pine trees, she said she "cranked" her ankle.  Pretty cute.  Camryn will be 1 next month.  That went by fast!  Right now though I am willing to let anyone take her for a bit.  I don't know if she is just teething or if there is really something wrong, but she is driving me nuts.  I can't put her down for nothin'.  This makes it hard to get anything done.  You should all try teaching dance with an 11 month old on your hip - pretty tricky.  But I do love her to death, she is very funny.  Her latest facial is puckered lips.  Very cute!
I love each of my girls so much, and I guess their dad will do too. =)   These girls are definitely my "dancing Frandsens".  Taylor and Rylie love going to dance.  I had to ask Taylor the other day just to make sure, but she told me she did.  Rylie - there is no question.  They are both great little dancers and they are each wonderful little girls.  Camryn keeps me dancing in her own little way.  I have not doubt that she will be a little dancer too.  I am so blessed to be their mother.

Let's see how this goes!

Alright, I'm going to give this a try and we'll see what happens.  It will probably take me awhile to get it figured out so don't get too frustrated with me.  I will do my best!
